Twelve members of the IAM Local Lodge 778 helped Kansas City Parks and Recreation clean up a large section of the Indian Creek Trail. The Indian Creek Bike\/Hike Trail links two states, four communities, and a multitude of parks along Indian Creek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Saturday, September 9, 2023, members of IAM Local 778 picked up trash along the Indian Creek Trail in Kansas City, MO. The effort is a part of IAM Local 778\u2019s continued dedication to helping the community in which we live. IAM Local 778 represents more than three thousand working families in the Kansas City area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
\u201cWith our Midwest Territory H.E.L.P.S. events, the projects we do make a positive difference in the communities we live in. Our IAM members contribute their time and energy in these worthy projects,\u201d said Midwest Territory General Vice President Steve Galloway. \u201cI\u2019m proud of this Local and its members for helping the community while also benefiting the local environment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s nice to be able to help in the community. This trail runs along Indian Creek so any help we can provide to keep the trail and waterways clean and free of garbage is well worth the effort,\u201d said Directing Business Representative Scott Brown. \u201cWe had a lot of new participation from our membership this year and it was great that everyone was able to come together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The IAM Midwest Territory began the \u201cIAM H.E.L.P.S. in the Community\u201d initiative in the spring of 2017 to provide essential assistance to residents in need.
