{"id":65,"date":"2023-10-23T13:31:13","date_gmt":"2023-10-23T21:01:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iamaw11.ca\/?p=65"},"modified":"2023-10-23T13:57:49","modified_gmt":"2023-10-23T21:27:49","slug":"arizona-iam-members-at-raytheon-vote-to-approve-strong-new-labor-agreement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iamaw11.ca\/?p=65","title":{"rendered":"Arizona IAM Members at Raytheon Vote to Approve Strong New Labor Agreement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>TUCSON, Ariz., October 22, 2023 \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), North America\u2019s largest aerospace and defense labor union, has reached a tentative agreement with Raytheon covering approximately 1,000&nbsp;members&nbsp;in Tucson, Ariz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The three-year tentative agreement covers IAM Local 933 members at the Raytheon facilities, southern Arizona\u2019s largest private employer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IAM members at Raytheon manufacture missiles and other advanced arms vital to the U.S. military worldwide to ensure America\u2019s security and leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The IAM negotiating committee recommends accepting the agreement, which includes significant wage increases, improved retirement security and preserved healthcare benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Highlights of the tentative agreements include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The agreement provides IAM members with a 4% increase in 2023. In 2024, they will receive a 3.5% increase, followed by a 3.25% increase in 2025.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$3,000 ratification bonus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two lump sum bonus payments totaling $2,800 (First payment of $1,500 in January 2024 and second payment of $1,300 in January 2025).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Non-contributory pension increase for currently enrolled employees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Protected pension contribution until January 2026.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implementation of the 9\/80 work schedule, which will provide at least 25 additional days off allowing employees more flexibility in their workweek and a better work-life balance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shift differential increase.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rate minimum increases for&nbsp;multiple&nbsp;occupations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CEP education payment increases&nbsp;for all classifications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enhanced&nbsp;automatic wage progression schedule.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthened&nbsp;grievance and arbitration procedures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis new contract is a testament to&nbsp;the collective power of a united workforce,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said IAM Local 933 Directing Business Representative Rick Vargas.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u201cCongratulations to all our members at Raytheon&nbsp;for&nbsp;voting overwhelmingly to ratify&nbsp;the&nbsp;new three-year agreement,&nbsp;specifically designed to improve the quality of their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI applaud the IAM Local 933 negotiating committee for the \u2018Fighting Machinists\u2019 spirit that has led to a solid agreement with notable wage hikes.
